First time in Vegas!

I’ve always wanted to go to Las Vegas, but had never taken the opportunity to actually go until now. A couple weeks after Christmas, Sean and I flew down for a short weekend trip.

We stayed at New York, New York and took in the highlights. We went downtown to Fremont Street to do the Slotzilla zip line, which was really exciting! The light show and the street entertainers were really fun. On Saturday, we explored the strip. It was a TON of walking, but the strip is very pedestrian-friendly, with walk bridges and escalators connecting everything. I liked seeing what each casino/resort was like on the inside. From the outside, they are impressively gigantic. We watched the water fountain show at the Bellagio and ate at the excellent buffet there. I also got to try In-n-Out burger for the first time. (I had to see what all the hype was about. Verdict: The burger was good but the fries and shake weren’t great.)

We took in a Cirque du Soleil show. I wished I could stay longer just so I could see more shows. There were so many I wanted to see! We played the slot machines a little bit and had luck at the Venetian–came out with more cash than we went in with, at least!

We had planned to take in the Mob Museum on Sunday before our flight out, but after everything else, we were too tired to fit that in. Instead, we had a leisurely morning at our own resort.

I definitely would like to come back to see more of what Vegas has to offer. In particular, to see more shows and do some of the excursions outside of the city!
